Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actor and singer, is a former model. She is known for co-starring in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the main singer for the girl group Apollonia 6. In the 80s, the actor-singer Prince christened Apollonia was one of many female musicians who gained from working with Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. The latter part of the 70s was when she appeared on CHiPS. In 1984, she was cast as the role of the lead female in Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer changed her name) and replaced Vanity in the female duo Vanity 6 singing with them in the movie with the title Apollonia 6. Sex Shooter was only a small hit for the group, however, she had an even bigger impact as Prince's duet partner on Take Me with You on the soundtrack. Kotero's association with Prince came to an end when the duo disagreed on her career direction. Apollonia 6, the group she was part of had a ended up splitting. The singer then appeared in handful of minor movies during the 80s (reportedly not accepting the opportunity to appear in the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon), before settling on a night-time role in the dramatic Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album came out in 1988. However, the R&B/dance tracks weren't well-received by the public who purchased music. They soon ceased to exist. Apollonia continued to act (if somewhat unnoticed) during the subsequent decade. Her small TV roles as well as minor film roles as well as exercise videos kept her active. Apollonia's album "Stay With Me" came out in 1997. After getting back to university and earning a degree for filmmaking she started her own production business. Apollonia has many jobs.
